Description:
The project’s aim is to improve the patients’ therapy adherence with the administration, by trained pharmacists in the 200 pharmacies that joined the Piedmontese project, of questionnaires and the realization of an organised counselling that would improve the adherence contributing in reducing the prevalence of the severe not controlled asthma.
This last aspect represents a significant cost for the patient, for the society, for the SSN, due to the increasing number of the medical examinations of unscheduled outpatients; emergency medical examinations and hospital admissions.
Moreover a proper pharmacological control of asthma reduces the incidence of degeneration to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
