Description
This project is based on the preparation and characterization of mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSN) loaded with different anticancer (pyrimidine analogues) drugs and their corresponding prodrugs. The prodrugs contain fatty acids tails in order to increase their lipophilicity and thus their loading efficiency. The nanoparticles are fully characterized from a technological point of view and their cytotoxic activity is evaluated in vitro in different human cancer cell lines.
