Description:
This project is aimed to investigate the potential efficacy of traditional anti-H1 antihistamine drug(s) as new pharmacological approach in diabetic nephropathy. Specific aims to assess this issue are:
- Evaluation of the H1 receptor role in diabetic nephropathy
- Evaluation of the pharmacological modulation of the H1 receptor in diabetic nephropathy by bilastine
Expertise in the lab include renal cell culture, in vivo models of diabetes and diabetic nephropathy. Technologies employed include immunobiochemistry and molecular biology.
