"Pharmacology and Toxicology Neurobehavioural Lab. (oPTIONAL)"
The Pharmacology and Toxicology Neurobehavioural group investigates the molecular and synaptic mechanisms and the role of specific brain regions in learning and memory acquisition, consolidation and retrieval. Other major fields of research are the modifications of cognitive processes caused by bioactive compounds, aging, stress, neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases. The group is also interested in applying the findings to the development of new strategies in the therapy of neuropsychiatric disorders. To accomplish this, the lab has incorporated a variety of approaches to investigate brain functions at multiple levels of biological complexity.
