Description:
Up-to-now, the competitiveness of the “olive oil sector” is based almost exclusively on cost reduction strategies: COMPETITIVE has the objective of flipping this paradigm by grounding the competitiveness on the quality and the health properties of the product. The project was conceived through the collaboration of scientists, economists, and representatives of the production chain, in order to establish the common purpose to bring knowledge and innovation in the field of extra-virgin olive oil.
The project aims to increase the profitability, sustainability and competitiveness of the entire Italian olive sector through the promotion of the production of high quality extra virgin oils characterized by a high healthy value. The main purpose of the project is a substantial increase of the Italian extra-virgin olive oil, certified for respecting the features that permit to use the health claims, as an element of differentiation and better competitiveness.
