Description
The “Associazione Culturale Conservare per Innovare” and the “Associazione Le Terre dei Savoia”, together with Racconigi, Lagnasco, and Bene Vagienna Town, and the Marguareis Park, the Regional Piedmont Director’s Office “Beni Culturali & Paesaggistici”, and the Sopraintendence “Beni Architettonici e Paesaggistici” of Cuneo Province, were able to give rise to an innovative project. It will be created a tourism network, to also use digitized cultural heritage, landscape and gardens, which are characterized by the cultivation of herbs, medicinal plants and vegetable crops and fruit-growers of ancient tradition.
The identified assets will form the system of “Vie sabaude dei profumi e dei sapori”. The route will start from the Archaeological pole Bene Vagienna, where will be built an ornamental garden inspired by the Roman gardens of the I-II century. In the part of the Lagnasco Castle the project involves the introduction of a promotional and productive environment linked to the world of fruit and plants, as evidenced by the magnificent fresco inside the manor, and that has its roots in the Renaissance. A physic garden, a type of botanical garden with medicinal plants, will be created in cooperation with botanist of the DSTF and graduated herbalist of the University of Turin.
